Privacy
What is stored. The email address you sign in with, an optional username, a hash of your password (never the password itself), and what you put in your inventory: spaces, bins, items, their photos, and any category details. It is stored on the server that runs this install, in a database that belongs to your workspace.
Photos. Every photo is re-encoded on arrival and the camera's hidden metadata — including the location where it was taken — is discarded, never stored.
Cookies. Two, both strictly functional, and installing
this site as an app adds none. The session cookie
(snailbin_sid) keeps you signed in; it ends when you close
your browser, and the server signs you out anyway after a day away, or
thirty days at most. A preference cookie (snailbin_theme)
remembers your light or dark theme. Neither is used to track you, and
there are no analytics, advertising, or third-party scripts on these
pages.
Email. This install sends mail for two reasons: a sign-in link you asked for, and an invitation a storage manager sent you. Nothing else.
Who can see your things. The people in your workspace, according to the role its storage manager gave them. Admins of this install see counts and sizes, not contents.
Your password. Changing it signs out every other device signed in as you — that is the point of changing it.
Leaving. Settings has a Delete my account button. It takes you out of every workspace you belong to. Photos and items you added stay with the workspace, because they describe its shelves, not you.
Questions about your data go to the person who runs this install.
Terms
Your inventory is yours. This install stores it and shows it back to you. It claims no rights over what you put in it.
Use it for inventory. Do not upload anything you have no right to, and nothing unlawful. Accounts used that way can be disabled without notice.
As is. This is a small project offered without warranty. It may change, pause, or stop. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; the CSV export exists for that.
Changes. When this page changes, the date below changes with it.
